Dr Alan Long, BSc, PhD, AIC, FRSH
Alan co-wrote the Green Plan, and acted as adviser to the Vegetarian Society from 1976 to 1991, initiating many projects. He is the Honorary Research Adviser of VEGA and continues investigations, research and submissions of evidence to government and other official bodies and consumer organisations. He has a background as a biochemist and nutritionist, and has spent many hours inspecting farms, markets, slaughterhouses and animals in transit.
